Quote:We confirm that a Member of The Old School Team was dismissed from employment at Jagex following gross misuse of moderator privileges.

During our rigorous routine system checks, irregular activity was identified on small number of accounts, including the movement of wealth and items back into the live game.

Following our investigation, we were able to resolve the issue before any significant impact was made to the wider game, or economy. We have also taken steps to return items and GP to any affected accounts. Whilst we generally do not return items or gold, we feel that given this unusual situation, we wanted to ensure no players lost out to the rogue actions of a member of staff.

We are actively working with the Police regarding the incident, but given this an ongoing legal matter we are unable to provide further details.

We pride ourselves on the passion and integrity of the JMods that work for Jagex and we hold them to the highest standards. However, we are not afraid to take tough action and make difficult decisions if someone cannot meet those standards.

We will dust ourselves off, and move on. Old School is at its biggest and strongest since launch, but we still have much to do, not least a mobile launch which each day gets closer.

As always, thank you for your support.

The Old School Team
Unfuckingbelievable. What an absolute clown. While this will lend credence to the people pointing fingers at him for DDoSing I find it strange it wasn't mentioned, if Jagex is willing to admit he stole GP and items on the low they'd have no reason to not mention he was leaking IPs (unless legally they can't yet?) but nevertheless his relationship with Rot will taint them for the rest of their existence, even if they had no involvement, especially when a kid from Fools was one of the victims of this incident.

I read about something like this in Eve Online. The largest guild there, Band of Brothers, had an employee of CCP, the company that made that game. That employee was caught hacking items into the game for BoB. Crazy how someone is willing to abuse their position of power like that just for ingame pixels.
Everyone knew it was happening and that he was supplying IPs to ROT so that they can DDoS.

Btw I hope no one is thinking of giving any ROT member any powers or priveliges on this forum as they will just abuse it

Tbh it would be an even bigger PR nightmare if they did realease everything involved. They probably can only release what they have clear concise evidence of at this point.

We have no plans for promotions right now, activity is just starting out and not many members of staff are needed yet. That being said I feel like painting an entire clan over what one individual formerly associated with them has done isn't very fair but I can't say I'd disregard it at this point in time.
not surprised, you can hate on rot as much as you want but we all know the situation would have been no different had it been another clan, everyone does as much as they think they can get away with

Ye but to throw away your career and potentially end up in legal trouble to help out an rs clan you've known for 2 minutes would be kind of surprising. Doubt that's what happened, for all anyone knows he could of been just trying to make bank on the side RWTing with no involvement from ROT but everyone is quick to say he was leaking IPs, handing out RSNs etc without a shred of evidence.
Hard to believe someone would sacrifice their career over a game.
dumb of him to be honest
