I think it's important to note someplace that when attempting the Fishing Tournament Quest you must use the garlic on the table in the Seers Village. Garlic you already have or have gotten from that table previous to the quest will not work.

i can attest to this. be sure to pick it up off that table in seers or youre going to be confused for 20-30 minutes effectively turning fishing contest from a easy quest to a master quest do yourselves a favor and follow this guys advice
