I have never related to a post so much before in my entire life. Wow. I don't really know what to say. You actually made me forget what the point of the thread is.
A lot of my real-life friends played back in 2001-2002 when I was in elementary school (probably from the website addictinggames.com, lol). I thought it was dumb since the graphics were so bad and I didn't give it a chance until a few months before rs2 came out. I played on and off through 2009. I never really had a ton of time to play, but thought it was fun when I did. I pretty much forgot about runescape after discovering a private server for the game Phantasy Star Online which was pretty much all I did in college. I heard about the launch of old school in 2017, and started up again. I don't have a ton of free time these days and play on and off, I guess.
Friend from middle school got me involved into the game. We'd call on phone and he guided me through tutorial island and certain quests and combat training. I thought he was a pro cause he was level 83, and i was just a noob lmao. i remember being astonished seeing lumbridge and collecting things like cowhide, ashes, logs, and not to sure what to do with burnt ashes and beads. The games environment was really pulling me in, especially when i thought i discovered varrock only to see other people spamming and selling stuff. Felt like i entered NY stock exchange. Was cool just trading people to see what they had and seeing "exotic" stuff for sale, and seeing all the different skill capes that people were showing off. I never really felt that excited to play a game, then i joined a clan and everything really blew off.

I remember leading little PK parties with friends and creating mini clans to pk with. Then i got involved with W141 clanning, out in the wildy. That Shit was Epic. There was only 1 weekend where my CC reigned supreme. Was such an accomplishment at the time.
Saw people play it on miniclip in the library, but finally started playing it due to classmates in middle school
