What got you into rs?
Personally I started in 06 because friends were playing it. Initially I hated the game and didn't log in again for 3 weeks. After that I would log in a little after school each day until it became a ritual to spend 4 hours a day on RS.... It all went down hill from there...
used to play connect 4,battleship, and various other java games on jagex website, then saw that they announced runescape and decided to try it out been around since
a guy called pathwalker from the old aol message boards in 04 told me about it, he was about as old then as i am now and didn't get as addicted
I found it. Logged in. Got bored within 1 minute and logged out. Then, saw my little brother playing it a few hours later. Got jealous/interested. Decided to try again.
My son was playing Classic then RS2. I started playing RS2 with him.
Few friends of mine were playing it back in 2006 so I registered and from 2008 onwards I've only been invested in PvP. Skilling and PvM doesn't hold that same appeal like it did back then.
I remember it like it was yesterday. A young boy at a Boys & Girls Club of America, couldn't be older then 10 or 11.
There was a computer room, and coming from a financially strickened family with no computer or internet at the time, I used the internet there. While I had initially made an account on the Official Runescape site, I often found myself loading and playing it on Miniclip.com, as for some reason(whether made up in my young, dumb head or not) would load better, and have better connection.
It also didn't help I played a Robot battling game on the same Miniclip website.
I fell in love with Runescape, looking back now it was truly magical and I really did feel it was larger then life. Walking from Lumbridge Castle to Varrock Square the long way was a legit fucking journey back then, a long one. Meeting new friends a long the way(remember taxi-ing to Varrock and people would try and get you stuck at the fence so you couldn't used them as taxi?)
Anyway, yeah, it just had a different feel then. But that had to be the most golden, almost innocent times in Runescape and my time here.
Now I know the world inside out and it feels so small.
I'd love to go back in time to a younger me, and a younger then and relive every second of it.
I was introduced to the game by a few IRL buddies. Always happy they showed me the game really early on.
Witnessed my brother playing & helped him with his account until I decided to start my own. Nearly 12 years ago now. Damn.
It was mentioned by a friend and he showed me it.
I played on miniclip for the first month. I'm pretty sure I played classic in 2004 and did not like it.
