I'd say at least start out with the + and - system and hand out warnings to the accounts that solely down vote just to troll.

RE: Reputation system - Matt Slater - 09-17-2018

Meh, I'm cool with it ig

RE: Reputation system - Murdoc - 09-18-2018

Just have it like it was originally on RSC. We don't need to set any limits because CD was the problem board then, and it isn't going to necessarily be as much of a factor now.

No need to bubble wrap everyone by making sure their feelings aren't hurt by - 1s and so on. The atmosphere already seems so much more relaxed.

I agree keep positive and negative obviously there will be people that abuse it either way but the + or - isn’t a huge game changer either way.

RE: Reputation system - Teddy - 09-22-2018

In my mind, it's worth having +1 and -1 for the indefinite future. The forum is so nascent at this point that the only users who are on here so far are mostly those who care about this community succeeding. Any toxic users who would be abusing it would be coming later, and if it started to be a problem, it could easily be removed in the future.

I like the idea of having the magnitude of reputation you can give per day be based on your rank. However, maybe I'm old fashioned, but 5/10/15 etc. seems like a lot. I would actually advocate more for 1/2/3. Keep the numbers low, so that we don't have reputation inflation.
