With the biggest event in UFC history closing in, I was just curious as to who will be watching and what your predictions are.
My prediction goes something like this:
1st rd: First 2 minutes, will be the feel out phase of the fight. Connor will be trying to get Khabib to bite on faints, while Khabib will march forward to negate the kick game and range of Mcgregor. After around the 2 minute mark, both fighters will have the timings down of their opponent. Connor will begin looking for shots. Khabib will duck under one of these shots and take Connor down to the ground and begin improving position while displaying dominant ground and pound until the end of rd.
2nd rd: Connor will be more concerned about the takedown and be prepared to sprawl after feeling the immense pressure of Khabib the previous rd. Khabib will go for a couple takedowns this rd and on the 3rd attempt, he will succeed, but not before Connor starches him with a nice left hand. Khabib will end the rd similar to the fashion he did in the first rd.
3rd rd: Connor will be extremely fatigued after having the Dagestan wrestler pounding him for over 8 minutes of ground control time, while Khabib is still holding composure. It is this round that I feel Khabib's ground dominance will take over. He will achieve 3 take downs, and the third will be the end of Connor. Connor will have hit the wall by now and Khabib will be raining down strikes until the submission opens up. Khabib will finish the fight with either a darce choke or RNC and there will be 1 minute left in the round. Declairing Khabib Nurmagomedov AND STILL the lightweight champion of the world.
