Instant depresso. xD

But I stick around for the similiar reason it brings me peace. I live a semi-chaotic life that's always on edge and it's really nice to just be able to come to the ole Runescape for a brief euphoria. I am a sucker for nastolgia as well, and some of my happiest moments(sadly?) were in the Runescape community.

I've played other games and just always come back to this one.

Home is where the heart is.
Because I simply enjoy the game. Been playing for 15 years and don't regret a single second spent playing Tongue

Virtual levels accomplish nothing.

Balancing that out seems hard especially when your main focus is the latest cosmetic wings
I want to keep my comp cape until the game shuts down.

I still enjoy leveling up my skills, and I love the quest lines. Plus, Runescape still has its major advantage in that there is not as big a time investment to play the game. Between work, classes, and friends I just don't have the time to play another game, but I can log in for maybe 20 minutes at a time and chip away at a slayer task.
friendly mates in clans, competitive action on weekends and sometimes week days. still enjoy the game itself too

But where then would memes like this come from?...

Well the main reason I still play RS is cause it does not require to stay online for several hours. I started in 2004 and still did not max my account, now when all my friends stopped scaping, when all clans I've been a part of died and I'm no longer required to attend some crazy 8h pkris I can just simply enjoy logging in for a hour or two in my free time and do some skilling, chat with random people etc. I don't really have any goals in RS, maybe I hope to finally get maxed in future but I don't have to rush. Also I'm 28 now, I have my family, my job responsibilites, my daughter, so I cannot keep finding new games to nolife at, like I used to do few years ago. Also I feel nostalgic when playing RS, reminds me when I was like 16 years old, things that I was doing back then etc. Plus it's really nice to see some old friend that you haven't seen online for years, logging in just to check the game and then you beginn chatting for an hour about everything.
I think the main reason I still play is the community. As toxic as the game is as a whole I’ve met some of the most real people in my life on rs. If you put that together with having a career and family I honestly spend maybe 2 hours a day on a game so I decided to play RS. I’m in the ever revolving loop of quitting for other games then coming back though.
I do play sometimes because I still believe that RuneScape is a great game.
Can't say I'm really playing much unless someone asks me to come and PK with them. In which case I usually have to spend 4m on a bond to log in for one hour a month.

I still enjoy checking back on the community to see what's happening. As toxic as the clanning community can be at times it's still pretty entertaining lol
