MMORPGs are largely a dying breed. Overtaken by MOBAs such as League of Legends, who are since losing a lot of ground to battle royales like PUBG and Fortnite. The last two have even taken gaming 'mainstream', so to speak. Shaking off the connotations of gamers being neckbeards, 12 year old racists romping the town to find people's mothers, and so on by having sports stars and other celebrities jumping on the bandwagon.
So, why are you still playing RS? Force of habit? Unwilling to give up on accounts you've spent up to 17 years on? Still happily part of communities like x clan or even this one here?
For me I just like the peace and solitude. LoL has made me swear off ever playing team games again unless I'm with friends, and even then they've all become so sick of it they've stopped playing altogether anyway. But when I log onto RS - it's just me. I can do whatever I want and no-one can boss me around otherwise. I'm still struggling to find a better way to unwind than wandering around Gielinor aimlessly, haha. Long may it prosper.

“People are continually pointing out to me the wretchedness of white people in order to console me for the wretchedness of blacks. But an itemized account of the American failure does not console me and it should not console anyone else. That hundreds of thousands of white people are living, in effect, no better than the "African Americans" is not a fact to be regarded with complacency. The social and moral bankruptcy suggested by this fact is of the bitterest, most terrifying kind.”
